Prime Minister Sushila Karki has initiated efforts to resolve the ongoing health insurance payment issues.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, she convened a meeting this afternoon with all relevant stakeholders to discuss the matter.
Hospitals across the country had threatened to halt services as the Health Insurance Board had delayed payments for health insurance claims. Healthcare providers have long struggled to continue services due to unpaid insurance dues.
The Health Insurance Board reports that over NPR 10 billion in payments to listed healthcare institutions nationwide are still pending.
This move by the Prime Minister aims to ensure timely payments and uninterrupted healthcare services across Nepal.
