Ahead of the March 5, 2026 elections, Prime Minister Sushila Karki is holding consultations with political parties represented in the dissolved House of Representatives to ensure a smooth and fair electoral process.
Seven key parties, including the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center), Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and Janata Samajbadi, have been invited to send two senior representatives each for the discussion, scheduled for 4 pm at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, according to Ram Bahadur Rawal, PM Karki’s press coordinator.
The talks are part of a broader effort involving the Election Commission and security agencies to finalize preparations, legal frameworks, and security measures for the elections. Earlier consultations were held at Sheetal Niwas on October 10 under the President’s initiative and on October 16 with 29 parties that had representation in the dissolved House, emphasizing the need to create a stable environment for elections.
