UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Monday admitted that the party made a mistake by not forming local security committees before the Gen-Z movement erupted. Speaking at the launch of the ‘Return Home National Campaign’ in Kathmandu, Oli said some individuals had even threatened to create chaos similar to Bangladesh, but the party had failed to organize neighborhood-level security in advance.
Oli described UML as a large organization supported by youth at the grassroots level and highlighted that the party’s young leaders are committed to working for the country and public welfare. He further claimed that parts of the Gen-Z movement were hijacked by criminal groups and announced that the party has begun forming a Youth Volunteer Force to ensure peace and security nationwide.
