Nuwakot Locals Prevent Waste-carrying Trucks from Heading Toward Bancharedanda Landfill

Locals of Kakani rural municipality-1 have prevented around 200 trucks from heading to the Bancheradandana landfill site for waste disposal from Kathmandu. 
The fresh deadlock came today (May 2) after city police personnel allegedly prevented Nuwakot locals from selling their vegetables at Balaju in Kathmandu.  
A source at the Kathmandu Metropolitan City confirmed the stoppage of the waste-carrying trucks and informed that talks are currently underway to resolve the matter.
