The government has announced that it will revise the existing health insurance package to ensure treatment of serious illnesses is covered by insurance. President Ramchandra Paudel shared this information on Friday while presenting the government's policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year at a joint session of the Federal Parliament.
He stated, “The health insurance package will be revised so that serious diseases can be treated under insurance coverage.”
In addition, the government plans to restructure the Insurance Board to improve governance and ensure financial stability in the insurance sector. To reduce the cost burden on the insurance system, the government will also include basic and essential medicines in the insurance scheme. This move aims to make health services more accessible and affordable for citizens, especially those dealing with critical health issues.
