After continuous ups and downs in the market throughout the whole day, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index ended with a slight decline by 4.45 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,711 after opening at 2,719. 

 

Despite this, the finance sector performed well, with all 15 companies in this group seeing their stock prices go up. The finance subgroup rose by 5.67 percent, giving a boost to the market.

 

Overall, stock prices fell for 113 companies, while 122 companies saw gains. Seven companies remained unchanged.

 

Among the biggest changes, Saamudaayik Microfinance and Corporate Development Bank dropped by 10 percent, while Upkar Microfinance, Chhyangdi Hydropower, and Central Finance saw a 10 percent rise.

 

A total of NPR 8.95 billion worth of shares were traded on Wednesday, showing an active market despite the slight drop in the index.
