The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a significant drop on Thursday, with the index falling by 31.43 points to close at 2,596, down from an opening of 2,626. The market experienced a continuous decline throughout the trading session.
Despite the overall market downturn, shares of 29 companies saw gains. Notably, Support Microfinance reached its upper trading limit, while Saamudaayik Microfinance recorded an 8% increase in its share price.
On the other hand, 211 companies saw their stock prices fall, with Narayani Development Bank experiencing the most significant loss, dropping by 9.21%.
Janaki Finance led the market in trading volume, with a turnover of NPR 17.6 million. The total transaction value for the day stood at NPR 4.76 billion, reflecting a relatively active trading environment despite the broader market decline.
