NEPSE Drops 7.26 Points, Finance Sector Sees Gains

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 7.26 points today on Thursday, closing at 2,678 points.

The total trading volume also decreased, with Rs 7.92 billion traded compared to Rs 8.71 billion on Wednesday.

Out of the stocks, 76 companies saw their prices go up, 162 saw a drop, and six remained the same.

The finance sector saw the biggest gain, rising by 1.88%. The investment sector increased by 0.52%, and microfinance rose by 0.17%.

On the other hand, most sectors lost value. The banking sector fell by 0.23%, development banks dropped by 0.95%, and the hotel and tourism sector went down by 0.58%. Other sectors like hydropower, life insurance, manufacturing, non-life insurance, 'others', and trading all experienced losses.

Despite the overall decline in the market, finance stocks performed well and showed strength during the downturn.
