Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said the party will finalize the names of its first-past-the-post candidates for the House of Representatives today.
In a video message shared on Facebook on Monday morning, Thapa said the party is in the final phase of candidate selection and is striving to make inclusive, balanced, and fair decisions despite time and procedural pressures.
He emphasized that the process is focused on consensus-building rather than simple nomination, with efforts to accommodate all sides within the party. Calling for unity, Thapa urged party leaders and cadres to rally behind the official candidates.
“From tomorrow, everyone should return to their constituencies and work together for the party’s official candidate. This is not an individual effort but a collective campaign,” he said.
Thapa also appealed to all factions to set aside internal differences and unite fully for the upcoming election.
