The cold weather in the Kathmandu Valley has started to ease as minimum temperatures continue to rise.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu was recorded at 5 degrees Celsius at 5:45 a.m. today (Monday). Temperatures have been slowly increasing over the past week, bringing some relief from the cold.

On Sunday, Kathmandu’s minimum temperature was 4.2 degrees Celsius. Earlier that morning, it was measured at 4.7 degrees Celsius.

The official minimum temperature for today will be recorded again at 8:45 a.m. At that time, the temperature is expected to be slightly lower than the early morning reading.

The Weather Forecasting Division measures minimum and maximum temperatures daily across the country, including in Kathmandu. The minimum temperature is recorded at 8:45 a.m., while the maximum temperature is recorded at 5:45 p.m.

The lowest temperature recorded in a day is called the minimum temperature, and the highest is known as the maximum temperature.
