The Nepali Congress is holding a central committee meeting today (Friday) to discuss the resignation of party president Gagan Thapa.
Spokesperson Devraj Chalise said the meeting will decide whether to accept or reject the resignation based on members’ views. The meeting will last two days, but a decision on the resignation is expected today.
Thapa had submitted his resignation to Vice President Bishwa Prakash Sharma, taking responsibility for the party’s poor election results, though its official confirmation is still pending.
After deciding on the resignation, the party will review election performance and discuss future plans, including leadership selection and organizational reforms.
