Kathmandu Metropolitan City has signed an agreement with Thapathali Prasuti Griha, Nepal Eye Hospital, and the Nepal Red Cross Society.
The agreement was signed on Thursday to carry out health and community support-related activities.
After the agreement, Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol said that the collaboration with various health centers would help improve the management of medical waste.
She said, “We need space to work, but it is difficult to find space in Kathmandu. This partnership with the maternity hospital will help us operate health promotion activities in a more organized way. We must work as quickly as possible.”
Dangol also shared that cooperation is being done with various health centers for the management of medical waste.
She raised concern over increasing eye problems among students, saying, “Many students are spending too much time on mobile phones, which is causing eye-related issues. The agreement with Nepal Eye Hospital will directly benefit around 20,000 students.”
She added that although there is a shortage of staff, more personnel would be deployed if needed.
“Even if we have fewer staff, if necessary, we will increase the number from 10 to 20 to get the work done. All health services and management tasks will be operated effectively,” she said.
