Nepal Festival Held in Delhi Showcasing Diverse Touristic Attractions

The Everest Chamber of Commerce & Industries, in partnership with the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi, organized the Nepal Festival Delhi 2025 from April 11 to 13 at the Embassy of Nepal Grounds, New Delhi. The festival was meant to foster deeper cultural and economic ties between Nepal and India.

 

Union Minister for Culture of India Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of Nepal, Ajay Chaurasiya, and Ambassador of Nepal to India, Shankar Prasad Sharma, inaugurated the event. 
 

Throughout the three days, various plenary sessions were conducted, bringing together renowned intellectuals, policymakers and experts from both nations to discuss critical themes surrounding Nepal-India relations, trade cooperation and the future of tourism. 


During a key session titled “Strengthening Sustainable Tourism: Promoting Religious, Heritage & Adventure Tourism,”  senior director of the Nepal Tourism Board, Hikmat Singh Ayer, highlighted initiatives to streamline cross-border travel for Indian tourists and discussed the country’s integrated vision of promoting both spiritual and adventure tourism for long-term growth. This session featured prominent speakers including Leelamani Paudyal (former Chief Secretary), RK Suman (deputy director general, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India), Neeraj Sahdev (president, Golden App), Yubraj Baral (president, Everest Chamber of Commerce & Industries), and Leena Khadka Shrestha (CEO, Dhulikhel Mountain Resort). Subhash Goyal, a renowned Indian expert in aviation and tourism, moderated the session.


NTB's pavilion at the festival showcased Nepal’s diverse offerings under the themes of culture, nature, adventure, along with spiritual and wellness tourism. Various promotional materials, souvenirs and information were shared among Nepal Stall visitors. 


Adding to the festival’s charm was the showcasing of authentic Nepali cuisine, which allowed visitors to savor the rich and diverse flavors of Nepal. A wide range of local products and handicrafts were also on display, promoting Nepal’s vibrant artisanal heritage. Moreover, several stalls from the Indian side also participated, contributing to a cross-cultural celebration that reinforced bilateral friendship and exchange.
