The Palestinian militant group Hamas has officially rejected a new ceasefire proposal coming from Israel. BBC reported that Hamas’s senior negotiator, Khalil al-Hayya, made the announcement through a video message, clearly stating that the group does not accept the terms of the latest offer.

According to Hamas, the proposal reflects the political interests of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rather than a genuine effort to end the conflict. The Israeli offer included a 45-day ceasefire in exchange for the release of 10 hostages currently in Hamas' captivity.

In response, Hamas stated that it will only agree to a ceasefire if there is a complete end to the war. The group insists that the release of all hostages must come with a full and permanent ceasefire.
