Vice President of the Nepali Congress (NC), Bishwoprakash Sharma, reminded people that NC has played a leading role in uniting the country during critical moments in history.

Speaking at an election event organized by the party’s district committee in Lalitpur on Friday, Sharma said NC has the ability to work with all sides for the country’s welfare, especially at a time when general elections are being held two years earlier than expected due to the nation’s challenging situation.

He recalled that it was BP Koirala who connected society with inclusive politics, and Girija Prasad Koirala who brought the then-rebellious Maoists into peaceful politics, ending the country’s conflict. Sharma added that NC is a responsible party that adjusts its approach for national progress and aims to end politics based on hatred and opposition.

Sharma also emphasized that building trust among the people is essential to meet the expectations of the Gen Z movement, and he believes NC has the leadership to respond appropriately.

On the occasion, NC central member Omkar Prasad Shrestha said the party has always responded to public concerns according to the needs of the time.

Joint General Secretary of NC and election candidate from Lalitpur-1, Uday Shumsher Rana, added that NC has changed along with the evolving thoughts of Nepalis, especially with the rise of the Gen Z movement.
