Kathmandu Valley recorded a warmer early-morning temperature today compared to the previous day.
The minimum temperature measured in Kathmandu at 5:45 am was 7.4 degrees Celsius. At the same time yesterday (Friday), the Valley’s minimum temperature was 6.3 degrees Celsius.
However, this is only an initial reading. The official minimum temperature for the day will be recorded at 8:45 am, and it may be slightly lower than the early-morning figure.
Meteorologists say the lowest temperature recorded in a day is called the minimum temperature, while the highest is known as the maximum temperature.
They explained that cloudy skies at night usually keep temperatures warmer, leading to a higher morning minimum. But when the sky is clear, the temperature often drops.
During the day, clouds block sunlight and reduce the maximum temperature, while clear skies allow temperatures to rise.
The Division records daily minimum and maximum temperatures across the country, including Kathmandu Valley.
