NA Passes National Forensic Laboratory Bill

On Thursday, the National Assembly (NA) unanimously approved the National Forensic Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081 BS.

The bill was presented in the Upper House by Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Sinha on behalf of Prime Minister Sushila Karki and the Minister for Education, Science, and Technology.

Minister Sinha also asked the Assembly to approve the bill and discuss it along with the report from the Legislative Management Committee. Both requests were accepted unanimously.

Lawmakers Dr. Beduram Bhusal, Sumitra BC, and Rukmini Koirala participated in the discussion on the bill.

Minister Sinha explained that the law is designed to strengthen forensic science in Nepal, including research and investigations.

The National Assembly will meet again on Monday, February 9, at 1:15 pm.
