Kulman Ghising: Energy Production Key to Nepal’s Prosperity

Ujyalo Nepal Party Chairman Kulman Ghising has said that Nepal must increase electricity production to become a prosperous country.

Speaking at a press conference held by the party in Rajbiraj on Friday, Ghising said Nepal needs to become self-reliant in electricity generation. He also stressed that agriculture must be developed along with the energy sector to improve the country’s economy.

He said the reforms and work he carried out in the energy sector have shown a practical model that can be implemented nationwide.

Ghising said Nepal has the capacity to produce up to 30,000 megawatts of electricity in the next 10 years and earn a large income from it. He added that his experience could help bring overall economic change in the country.

“Nepal can become self-reliant, and people may even get electricity for free,” he said. “Without self-reliance in basic sectors like agriculture, drinking water, employment and energy, sustainable development is not possible.”

He also said the party is moving forward by keeping the needs and expectations of the people at the centre. He added that the party is committed to good governance, transparency and development.
