A new and modern aviation fuel depot has been built at Pokhara International Airport. This depot can store up to 3.6 million liters of aviation fuel. It has been constructed by Nepal Oil Corporation for the first time at this large scale.
The special part of this project is that it was completed using only Nepali people, skills, and resources. From design to construction, everything was done by local experts, workers, and companies. This is the first time such a big project has been fully built with local effort.
The depot was built at a cost of 750 million rupees. It has three big storage tanks, each with the capacity to hold 1,200 kiloliters of fuel. Altogether, the tanks can store 3,600 kiloliters of aviation fuel. These tanks are equipped with modern technology to ensure safety and smooth fuel supply.
This new depot will make it much easier to supply fuel to both domestic and international airplanes that land and take off from Pokhara. It will help improve flight operations and reduce delays due to fuel issues. This project shows that Nepal now has the ability to build big and important infrastructure using its own talent and resources.
