COVID-19 is spreading again in Nepal. From January 1 to July 3, 2025, the virus has been found in 31 districts across the country. So far, 249 people have tested positive, including 35 cases in just the past week. In the last 24 hours, three new cases have been confirmed, and one person has died due to the virus.
To control the spread, the government has started health checks at 17 border points. Health desks are checking people using Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs).
The Ministry of Health has asked people to take precautions. Everyone is advised to wear a mask, wash hands regularly or use sanitizer, and maintain cleanliness.
People coming from places with active COVID cases, or those showing symptoms like fever or cough, are asked to stay at home in isolation or quarantine.
The government says these steps are important to stop the virus from spreading further.
