Resham Bahadur Jugjali, a provincial lawmaker from CPN (Maoist Centre), tore up the budget book during a session of the Gandaki Province Assembly on Monday.

While discussing the annual development program of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, Jugjali who is also a former infrastructure minister, expressed anger, calling the budget biased. He ripped the budget book in protest.

He sarcastically remarked that the current budget seems to have pleased the gods more than the people. Criticizing the allocation, he questioned why his home district, Myagdi, was neglected and challenged the finance and physical ministers to visit remote areas like Gurja, Narchyang, and Darkhola.

He also joked that the budget aimed to reach Mount Everest but somehow ended up heading toward the Indian Ocean, highlighting what he sees as a complete misdirection in planning and priorities.
