Floods Wash Away Diversion, Narayangadh-Butwal Road Completely Blocked

Heavy rainfall on Monday morning caused severe flooding in Nawalparasi, washing away a diversion and completely blocking the Narayangadh-Butwal section of the East-West Highway.

According to DSP Shailendra Thapa, spokesperson for the Armed Police Force, the flood swept away a diversion on the Binayi River, located in Binayi Tribeni Rural Municipality-3, Sardhi. This has brought all traffic on the highway to a halt.

Security personnel from the Armed Police Force Base in Sardhi have been deployed to the site to manage the situation.

In a separate incident, police also reported that flooding in Gorkha district damaged a culvert on the Gorkha–Arughat–Bunkot road. A humepipe was washed away in Dhungagade, Ward 8 of Gorkha Municipality, leading to a roadblock there as well.
