Parliamentary Committees Meet Today to Discuss Taxes, Laws, and Reports

Two committees of the Federal Parliament are meeting today at Singha Durbar. The State Directive Principles, Policies, and Responsibilities Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Committee will meet first at 8 a.m. Their agenda includes reviewing the draft of their annual report for the year 2082, discussing the findings from a recent monitoring visit, and addressing other current issues. Later, at 9 a.m., the Finance Committee will hold its meeting in the committee meeting room. They will discuss a request from the Nepal Gold and Silver Entrepreneurs Federation regarding the tax on gold, silver, and jewelry included in the Economic Bill. The committee will also hold internal discussions on proposed changes to the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 2073.
