CIAA Files Corruption Case Against Pashupati Official and 13 Others

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, the Member Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, along with 13 others and two companies.

CIAA spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Paudel said the case was filed at the Special Court in Kathmandu on Sunday. The group is accused of embezzling over Rs 10.33 crore through collusion.

According to the CIAA, the corruption took place during the procurement and installation process of an electric crematorium machine at Pashupati. The accused allegedly caused financial loss to the Trust by misusing its funds in a planned manner.
