DP Aryal Files Candidacy for Speaker Post

Dol Prasad Aryal (DP), Vice President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has filed his nomination for the post of Speaker.

According to the party’s General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, Aryal registered his candidacy on Friday on behalf of the party.

He said, “We have proposed and registered our party’s Vice President Dol Prasad Aryal as a candidate for Speaker. Discussions are ongoing with other parties regarding this. We have not yet discussed the Deputy Speaker position; that will be addressed only after the Speaker election. For now, we are focused on the Speaker.”

RSP Chair and Member of the House of Representatives Rabi Lamichhane is the proposer of Aryal’s candidacy.

The election for the Speaker post is scheduled for Chaitra 22. The Federal Parliament Secretariat had set the time for nomination registration from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Friday, and the final list of candidates will be published at 2:30 PM.
