The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal has directed that all information be published and broadcast only through state-owned media in order to maintain austerity in government spending and ensure uniformity and transparency in information dissemination.

According to a secretary-level decision made on Chaitra 18, all public bodies under the federal, provincial, and local levels have been requested to implement this provision.

From now on, all notices, including those related to public procurement, must be published or broadcast only through government-owned media outlets such as Gorkhapatra Corporation, Radio Nepal, and Nepal Television.

The directive also states that any payments made from government or public funds should be directly deposited into the accounts of the respective media institutions.

Additionally, it has been clarified that the rates and discount provisions for publication and broadcasting must be officially approved by the respective media organizations.
