CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet has filed his candidacy for the House of Representatives election from Bhaktapur Constituency No. 2. He registered his nomination at the election office on Tuesday for the polls scheduled on Falgun 21.

CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet has filed his candidacy for the House of Representatives election from Bhaktapur Constituency No. 2.
Basnet registered his nomination on Tuesday afternoon at the election office. He had also contested from the same constituency in the 2022 election, where he was defeated by Nepali Congress candidate Durlabh Thapa. However, Basnet was elected from Bhaktapur-2 in the 2013 and 2017 elections.
The Nepali Congress has fielded Kabir Rana as its candidate from the constituency. Nomination filing for the House of Representatives election, scheduled to be held on Falgun 21, is taking place across the country on Tuesday.
