Ishwar Pokhrel Files Candidacy from Kathmandu-5

CPN-UML leader Ishwar Pokhrel has registered his nomination for the House of Representatives election from Kathmandu Constituency No. 5, setting up a repeat contest with Nepali Congress leader Pradip Paudel. CPN-UML leader Ishwar Pokhrel has filed his candidacy for the House of Representatives election from Kathmandu Constituency No. 5. Pokhrel registered his nomination on Tuesday by visiting the election office.

 

Pokhrel has previously contested elections from the same constituency. In the 2022 election, he was defeated by Nepali Congress candidate Pradip Paudel, while he had secured victory from the constituency in the 2017 election. This time as well, Pokhrel and Paudel are once again facing each other in Kathmandu-5.

 

Meanwhile, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party has fielded former chairman Kamal Thapa as its candidate from the constituency. With top leaders competing, the election in Kathmandu Constituency No. 5 is expected to be highly competitive and interesting.

 

Nomination filing for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21 is taking place across the country on Tuesday.
