Heavy rainfall has triggered landslides and floods, blocking six major highways in different parts of Nepal, according to Nepal Police Headquarters. Among the affected routes, the Araniko Highway remains obstructed at Kodari, Larcha, and Koplang in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchok. The Mahendra Highway is also blocked due to flooding at Binayi Tribeni-1 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East). Additionally, the Beni–Jomsom road at Rupse in Myagdi and the Bheri Corridor at Chhalghat in Dolpa have been cut off.
Meanwhile, five highways that were previously blocked have been reopened for one-way traffic. These include the Ravi–Ranke–Bhedetar road in Dhankuta, BP Highway in Kavre, Narayanghat–Muglin road in Chitwan, Kaligandaki Corridor in Gulmi, and Jumla–Mugu road in Jumla.
Police have said that efforts are ongoing to clear all blocked roads and resume two-way traffic as soon as possible.
