The Patan High Court has issued an order telling the government not to arrest journalist Dil Bhusan Pathak for now.
This order was given after a complaint was filed by the Cyber Bureau, accusing Pathak of cybercrime. The complaint was related to a video posted on his YouTube channel called Tough Talk Explainer.
In that video, Pathak talked about former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, and their son Jaiveer Singh Deuba, saying they were connected to investments in the Hilton Hotel.
The court said that if anyone feels harmed by the content of the video, they can file a complaint at the Press Council Nepal instead of directly going for legal action.
A joint bench of Justices Tank Prasad Gurung and Tikaram Acharya gave this decision, clearly mentioning that Pathak should not be detained over this issue.
