The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is going to celebrate its third anniversary on June 21 with special programs all over Nepal. The party will organize a campaign with the slogan “In Parliament and on the Streets: For the End of Corruption and Civilized Politics.”
The party’s top leaders held a meeting on Wednesday and made a nine-point plan for the celebration. On that day, the party will also hold a Central Committee meeting at its main office in Kathmandu.
The RSP will take part in both public events and programs in Parliament to share its political goals.
According to acting spokesperson Manish Jha, the meeting also discussed the court case related to party president Rabi Lamichhane and the recent visa-related controversies in Parliament.
The party has also made changes in its internal leadership. Dr. Swarnim Wagle will now lead the Policy and Ideology Department, with Santosh Pariyar as his assistant. Manish Jha will head the Campaign and Publicity Department. Rajan Gautam will look after the Agriculture Department, and Ram Nyaupane will lead the Energy and Water Resources Department.
Looking at Nepal’s current political situation, the party has decided to form a special task force to bring together people who believe in alternative politics, including activists and independent groups.
The RSP will also begin a nationwide campaign in all seven provinces to prepare for its first national general convention, which the party says will be an important event in its history.
