With increasing complaints about blocked walkways and shrinking public spaces, Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) has launched a campaign to remove unauthorized structures built on or around houses.

The city started the drive today from the Shankhamul area, focusing on illegally built sheds, platforms, and extensions that spill over onto roads and sidewalks. These structures not only cause inconvenience to pedestrians but also disrupt the overall urban environment.

City Police Chief Sitaram Hachhethu said the campaign will move to other busy areas like Mangalbazar and Pulchowk from tomorrow and will continue regularly.

“This is part of our ongoing effort to make sure public spaces remain open and city rules are followed,” Hachhethu said.
