Bhandari and Karki Meet Oli in Gundu to Express Condolences

Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sushila Karki visited Gundu in Bhaktapur to meet CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, who is mourning the death of his father.

Former President Bhandari reached Oli’s residence on Sunday afternoon along with a few aides. Prime Minister Karki arrived in Gundu at around 1 pm to express her condolences and briefly spoke with Oli. Security in the area was increased during her visit.

Oli’s father, Mohan Prasad Oli, died on Friday at the age of 97 while receiving treatment at Korean Hospital in Bhaktapur. Oli is currently in Gundu taking care of his father’s funeral and family matters.

Despite his loss, Oli attended a UML Secretariat meeting on Saturday. The meeting, led by Vice Chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, selected 16 proportional representation (PR) members of parliament from the party.
