KP Sharma Oli Re-Elected CPN-UML Chair for Third Term

KP Sharma Oli has been elected chairperson of the CPN-UML for the third time. He won by a large margin at the party’s 11th General Convention, getting 1,662 votes. His closest rival, Ishwor Pokhrel, received 564 votes, showing Oli’s strong control over the party.

A member of the Election Commission said the full and detailed voting results will be announced soon.

At the same time, Shankar Pokhrel from KP Sharma Oli’s panel has been elected general secretary. He defeated Surendra Prasad Pandey from the Ishwar Pokhrel group, winning 1,228 votes while Pandey received 999 votes.
