Kathmandu Valley felt quite cold this morning, with low temperatures recorded early in the day.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division said the temperature in Kathmandu was 4.0 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am on Tuesday. At the same time on Monday, the temperature was 3.7 degrees Celsius, and it dropped further to 3.5 degrees Celsius by 8:45 am.
Meteorologists explained that the official minimum temperature is recorded at 8:45 am, so today’s temperature may still decrease slightly compared to the early reading.
The Division measures daily minimum and maximum temperatures across the country. The minimum temperature is recorded at 8:45 am, while the maximum temperature is measured at 5:45 pm.
Experts say cloudy nights usually keep mornings a bit warmer, while clear skies allow temperatures to fall more. During the day, cloudy weather keeps temperatures lower, but clear skies and strong sunshine cause temperatures to rise.
