Kathmandu Faces Scheduled Power Cuts in Key Areas Today

Several parts of Kathmandu will experience planned electricity outages today as the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) carries out upgrades under its Underground and Strengthening Distribution Project.

Power will remain cut from 8 AM to 12 PM in the Pashupatinath, Mitrapark, Battisputali and Airport vicinity. 

The affected zones include Mitrapark–Pashupati College, the Airport feeder area stretching through the KIVAS sewerage project to the Airport Army Barracks, and Battisputali sections from Chabahil Dirghayu Hospital to Jayabageshwari and Pashupatinath.

Under the New Chabahil–Naya Basti feeder, a separate outage from 7 AM to 8 AM will affect Chabahil Chowk, Gaurighat Chowk and the wider Naya Basti area.

NEA said supply may resume sooner if work finishes ahead of schedule and apologized for the inconvenience caused to consumers.
