Bayalpata Hospital in Achham has received important medical equipment from the Government of Japan to improve its healthcare services.
In a special event held on Tuesday, Japan handed over equipment worth around 66,000 dollars (about 8.9 million Nepali rupees) under its Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP). This support will help the hospital provide better treatment for trauma and bone-related injuries.
Bayalpata Hospital, operated by the non-profit organization Nyaya Health Nepal, has been serving people from remote districts like Achham, Bajura, Doti, Kalikot, and Dailekh. It plays a vital role in providing healthcare to thousands of people in these areas.
Speaking at the event, Japan’s Acting Ambassador to Nepal, Tamura Takahiro, praised everyone involved for making the project a success. He said Japan is happy to support efforts that bring quality healthcare to rural communities and hoped that this would further strengthen the friendship between Japan and Nepal.
Japan’s GGP program focuses on helping local communities directly. Since 1991, Japan has supported more than 200 such projects in Nepal, improving the lives of people across the country.
