Dry Landslide Blocks Khandbari-Kimathanka Road in Sankhuwasabha

A dry landslide early Tuesday morning has blocked the Khandbari-Kimathanka section of the North-South Koshi Highway in Sankhuwasabha district.

According to DSP Daksha Kumar Basnet from the District Police Office, the landslide occurred around 6:00 AM near the Phyakre River in Makalu Rural Municipality-5. The debris struck a river bridge, completely halting traffic on the highway.

This blockage has cut off road access to several areas in Makalu and Bhotkhola rural municipalities.

Authorities have begun clearing the debris, and work is ongoing to reopen the road.
