A group led by Gen-Z leader Miraj Dhungana staged a demonstration on Monday at Maitighar Mandala, demanding the formation of an all-party government, claiming that the current administration has failed the Gen-Z movement.
Speaking to journalists, Dhungana said the Sushila Karki-led government has proven ineffective and that an all-party government including political parties and civil society must be formed. He emphasized that former political leaders should not lead the new government.
“The only way forward is to form a consensus-based government before elections. We cannot focus solely on legality when the system itself is broken. New and old leaders should work together, but the leadership of the all-party government must not come from the old top leaders. We are clear on this demand and will continue to press for it,” Dhungana said.
The group criticized the Karki-led interim government for failing to uphold the spirit of the Gen-Z movement, saying their activism is aimed at ensuring systemic reforms and inclusive governance.
