Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana returned home after attending the signing ceremony of the Convention on the Establishment of the International Organisation for Mediation (IOMed) in Hong Kong on May 30. She joined the event as an observer at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The organisation aims to resolve international disputes through mediation. Thirty-two countries signed the Convention, with over 50 countries and 20 international organisations participating.
On the sidelines, Dr Rana met with Minister Wang to discuss strengthening Nepal-China relations, development cooperation, and plans to celebrate 70 years of diplomatic ties.
She was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General in Hong Kong.
