The Nepal Nursing Association (NNA) has given the government 48 hours to fulfill their demands for better pay and benefits, warning that nurses will suspend all services except emergency care if ignored.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the association said all government, private, and non-government hospitals, as well as medical colleges, will halt services nationwide if the deadline passes unmet.

The NNA also urged authorities not to threaten or pressure nurses participating in the protest.

Although the association had earlier reached a partial agreement with the Ministry of Health and Population on minimum wage adjustments, several other issues remain unresolved.

After Sunday’s discussions, the NNA and protesting nurses vowed to intensify their movement if the government fails to respond within the given timeframe.
