President Ram Chandra Paudel is departing for Doha, Qatar, today to take part in the Second World Summit for Social Development, which will run from November 4 to 6 (Kartik 18–20). He will lead a 12-member Nepali delegation at the event.
President Paudel is attending the summit at the special invitation of Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. According to Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, President Paudel will deliver a key address at the summit’s main session on November 4, highlighting Nepal’s perspectives and commitments toward social development on the global stage.
The summit, being held nearly 30 years after the first one in Copenhagen in 1995, aims to chart a new course for global social progress based on the resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly.
During his stay, President Paudel is also scheduled to meet Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and other world leaders to discuss bilateral ties and cooperation on shared development challenges.
The summit is expected to strengthen international collaboration and collective commitment toward advancing social development. President Paudel will return to Nepal on November 6 (Kartik 20).
