Floods and Landslides Claim 60 Lives Across Nepal, Ilam Hardest Hit

At least 60 people have lost their lives in floods and landslides triggered by relentless rainfall across Nepal since Friday night (October 3), the Armed Police Force (APF) confirmed.

 

According to DSP Shailendra Thapa, APF’s Associate Spokesperson, the victims include 19 men, 26 women, and 15 children.
Ilam district has been the worst affected, with 37 fatalities, followed by Panchthar (8), Udayapur (3), Rautahat (3), Khotang (2), and one each in Sunsari, Morang, Sindhuli, and Mahottari.

 

Additionally, two women lost their lives in Kavrepalanchowk, and a child died in Sindhupalchowk, the APF reported.

 

Rescue and relief operations are underway in the disaster-hit regions, with security personnel mobilized to assist affected families and clear blocked routes.
