With the start of the monsoon season, floods and landslides have blocked several major highways in Nepal.
According to the latest update from Nepal Police on Thursday morning, 11 major highways across the country are currently affected by landslides and flooding.
These road blockages have been reported in various districts including Dhankuta, Sindhupalchok, Kavre, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Myagdi, Gulmi, Jumla, and Doti.
Out of the 11 affected highways, 6 are completely blocked, meaning no vehicles can pass through. The other 5 highways are operating in only one direction, causing major disruptions to transportation.
Due to continuous rainfall in many parts of the country, police and local authorities are working to clear the roads. Travelers have been advised to stay updated and follow safety guidelines if they need to travel through these areas.
