Finance Minister to Present Budget for Fiscal Year 2025/26 Today

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present the government’s budget for the fiscal year 2025/26 today. He will do this at a joint meeting of both houses of the Federal Parliament.

According to Padma Prasad Pandey, Secretary of the Federal Parliament, the meeting will start at 3:00 PM. During this meeting, the Finance Minister will present the budget as stated in Article 119 of Nepal's Constitution. The Parliamentary Secretariat has asked all members of both houses to arrive at the House of Representatives chamber by 2:45 PM.

Before this, the House of Representatives will meet at 1:30 PM. In that session, Speaker Devraj Ghimire will read a letter from the Prime Minister and the Cabinet Office regarding some added duties. The Finance Minister will also present the Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2025/26 during this session.

Likewise, at 1:45 PM, the National Assembly will meet separately, where the Finance Minister will also present the Economic Survey for 2025/26.
