The Election Commission (EC) has written to the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) seeking clarification on the recent dismissal of several party leaders by party chair Rajendra Lingden.
Lingden recently replaced the coordinator of the party’s Disciplinary Committee, appointing Roshan Karki to the position. He also removed Vice-President Mukund Shyam Giri, who had issued a statement demanding that Subedi remain in his post. Additionally, party spokesperson Sagoon Lawati was relieved of his duties.
The dispute reached the Election Commission on 29 Asar, when the dissatisfied faction of RPP filed a complaint challenging Lingden’s decision and requested the commission to overturn it.
Confirming the development, RPP treasurer Nilkantha Kafle stated that the Election Commission has officially sent a letter to the party asking for details regarding the changes and the internal decision-making process.
