Nepali Congress leader Dr. Sunil Sharma has launched a door-to-door campaign for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21.

Sharma, who is contesting from Morang Constituency No. 3 under the Nepali Congress banner, began the campaign to reach out to voters. He had previously been elected as a member of parliament from the same constituency and is now seeking re-election. Locals say Sharma has made significant contributions to health and education in the area. They claim he has played a major role in the development of the constituency during his previous term. Residents also mention that Dr. Sharma provides free medical treatment to the people.

Saraswati Thapa, mother of actress Rekha Thapa, said no one has contributed as much to the development of Morang-3 as Dr. Sharma. She added that even if other candidates had not run, it wouldn’t have mattered, because Sharma has saved patients who were close to death through his treatment, calling it a great service to humanity.

Local resident Sita Dhakal of Sundarharaincha-12 said she has always supported Dr. Sharma as her voter. She contrasted his service with her uncle Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, a former minister, who did not help her, saying Dr. Sharma has always supported people in need. Devimaya Dhakal noted that Sharma provides free treatment to all poor people, which is why he remains her choice. Arun Kumar Pandit said that even if new candidates appear, Dr. Sunil Sharma remains the most trusted figure in the constituency. Locals also highlighted that his provision of free medical care has strengthened their loyalty to him. Manoj Sapkota added that compared to the past, Dr. Sharma has done far better work during his tenure.

Residents unanimously expressed their intention to vote for Dr. Sunil Sharma again.
