Dahal Says Solukhumbu Election Holds International Significance

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that Solukhumbu, being the district nestled in the lap of the world’s highest peak Mount Everest, holds not only national but also international significance in terms of election results.

Speaking at a special election program organized by the Solu–Kathmandu Contact Coordination Committee in Kathmandu on Saturday, Dahal said the world closely watches which party and which leader wins in Solukhumbu. He urged voters to ensure the victory of NCP candidate Asim Rai with an overwhelming majority by voting for the Star election symbol.

Dahal claimed that if Asim Rai is elected, he himself would take responsibility for carrying out all necessary work for the development of Solukhumbu. He committed full support for road network expansion, tourism promotion, mountaineering management, and the development of energy potential at the international level.

He said, “Solukhumbu lies in the lap of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. The world watches and recognizes which party and which leader wins in Solu, this carries not just national but international meaning. Your responsibility is greater than that of voters and candidates elsewhere. You must feel this. I urge all of you to create a record by electing Asim Rai with an overwhelming majority on the Star symbol. Once you send Asim Rai victorious, I will take responsibility for what needs to be done for Solukhumbu’s development, from road construction and tourism development to managing mountaineering activities and developing energy potential at the international level. You elect Asim, and I will do what needs to be done for Solu.”

Dahal also said that after the Gen-Z movement, realizing the need for unity, efforts have been advanced to unite leftist forces. He informed that 23 different components are now in a position to come together within the NCP.
