Vinod Chaudhary, Nepali Congress candidate for West Nawalparasi-1, has presented a comprehensive plan to tackle long-standing development challenges in his constituency, ahead of the House of Representatives election on Falgun 21.

Chaudhary highlighted that two Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) worth NPR 1.6 billion are ready to address flooding and irrigation issues in the Susta–Gandak region, which has affected farmers and local livelihoods for decades. He emphasized coordination with local authorities, ministries, and neighboring Indian states to ensure sustainable solutions, including dam expansion, river management, and increasing hydroelectric capacity from under 3 MW to 15 MW, along with solar power initiatives.

He also outlined plans for agricultural modernization, including improved support for sugarcane and banana farmers, irrigation expansion, credit and subsidy facilities, market-oriented production, and youth engagement in farming. Industrial and startup support, skill development, and local employment creation are also part of his agenda.

Chaudhary’s infrastructure proposals include completion of postal roads, ring roads, four-lane highway expansions, and flood management. Tourism promotion through heritage site development and connectivity with the Lumbini circuit is another focus.

Social development commitments cover education, health, women and child welfare, senior citizens, marginalized communities, digital governance, anti-corruption measures, and social security programs. He emphasized enhancing healthcare access, digital classrooms, vocational training, and sustainable urban management.

Chaudhary said his vision aims to transform West Nawalparasi into a model constituency of development, turning long-standing challenges into examples of effective governance and prosperity.
