The minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley has increased today.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the temperature recorded in Kathmandu at 5:45 am today was 9.5 degrees Celsius.

At the same time on Thursday, the temperature was 8.5 degrees Celsius. It also remained 8.5 degrees Celsius at 8:45 am that day.

The official minimum temperature is recorded at 8:45 am. Sometimes, the temperature may drop slightly between early morning and 8:45 am, but at times it stays the same.

Meteorologists say that when the sky is cloudy at night, the morning temperature is usually higher. But if the sky is clear during the night, the morning temperature is usually lower.

On the other hand, maximum temperatures during the day are lower when the weather stays cloudy. When the sky is clear and sunny, daytime temperatures usually rise.

Even though temperatures change from day to day, experts say the overall temperature is slowly increasing as winter comes to an end.

The Division records minimum and maximum temperatures daily across the country, including Kathmandu. The minimum temperature shows how cold it is at night and early morning and is officially recorded at 8:45 am. The maximum temperature shows how hot it gets during the day and is recorded at 5:45 pm.
